The Arlington Chamber of Commerce was established in 1957, and as with all Chamber of Commerces, its purpose was to help and promote the business of the city. In 2009 the Chamber realized they needed to not only help and promote business, but also help and promote Arlington. Thus, Community was added to the name, becoming Arlington Community Chamber of Commerce. The present day Chamber is supported by local volunteers from every walk of life.
Each year the Chamber hosts a variety of events. Notable among these events are: a "Fishing Derby, the Arlington Show & Shine Car Show, a Holiday get together of caroling and tree lighting, and two Welcome Walapaloozas to meet and greet newcomers. The Community Chamber supplies hanging flower baskets in the downtown area and a welcome kit to new residents.
